Apothecary installations are more than simple mail reception stations: next to the presentation of information concerning opening hours and apothecaries on duty they offer the expense of medicines out of opening hours. That is why safety is of particular importance.
Equipments
Apothecary installations can be equipped with the following elements due to the extended requirements of pharmacies:
  • mailboxes in all standard and special sizes
  • prescription box for safe insertion of perscription sheets
  • communication elements like bell button for emergency services, light button, intercom system and/or video camera
  • illuminated displays, also changeable for opening hours, emercency service schedule etc.
  • vertical transfer hatch box (160 mm deep) for expense of medicines, with separately closable inner and outer door (optionally a simultaneously opening and closing of both doors is possible)
  • separate inscriptions e.g. with pharmacy logo

After pretreatment the parts are powder coated manually by KNOBLOCH. Here electrostatically charged polyester powder is applied to the raw parts to a thickness of 70-100 micrometers with a hand spray gun and then baked at 160-200 ° Celsius. It results in a continuous, weather-resistant, thermally stable surface.

No use of harmful solvents, the possibility of reclaiming and recycling the powder, efficiencies up to 99% and short color change times in conjunction with high-precision control technology make this surface treatment the most economic and most environmentally friendly technology in the entire surface technology.

KNOBLOCH uses polyester powder coatings in quality satin finish with a gloss of 75 ° + / -10 °. By default, colours from the RAL range are used. Colors of other standards such as British Standard (BS) or Natural Color System (NCS) or effect colors such as structure paints, pearl-effect, etc. can, usually at an additional cost, also easily be painted.

To achieve exact color match to the existing components on site, the on site existing colour has to be used since already different batches of the same suppliers can vary. Here, the customer usually sends us the coloured powder or KNOBLOCH provides a color sample for on-site comparison.

Anodized surfaces provide protection against mechanical impact and are weather and corrosion resistant. The metallic shine of the material is maintained, since the oxide layer is transparent. Especially mailboxes and here specially door side panel mailbox banks are often used with anodized surfaces to make them visually matching to the anodized facades and entrances. In order to maintain uniformity of color to the existing parts, the EURAS standard is used for defining. For exact color match, the customer must provide a sample. Basically all desired colors can be achieved. PVD The PVD process is a special procedure when a brass-colored finish is desired in the mailboxes and bell plates. Here polished stainless steel parts are vaporized in a vacuum chamber. Since original brass parts weather quickly and are very sensitive to vandalism with a paint protection film, a PVD coating is a good alternative as it creates a very hard, resistant surface. Apart from that, with this method many shades from gold over brass, bronze, copper, silver, grey, anthracite up to black or matt black can be created. The process is very complicated and therefore very cost-intensive. But in terms of quality it convinces and is therefore offered by KNOBLOCH when brass-colored products are requested.

Next to stainless steels, aluminum and zinced galvanized (electrolytic) steel sheet with low zinc spangle are used for production. Aluminum and steel sheet are always powder coated, aluminium can also be anodized.

The powder coating is always preceded by a pre-treatment. Here, the existing corrosion protection (galvanizing or aluminum) is additionally followed by an iron phosphate (steel) or chromium-free passivation (aluminum). Thus, these materials are still oxidation carrier. Also the treatment serves for degreasing and application of a tie coat to the materials that have to be powder coated. Thereafter, the powder coating (plastic coating) takes place. Besides the colouring this process is also used to prevent corrosion.

Max KNOBLOCH usually uses brushed stainless steel V2A for stainless steel products, as this provides adequate corrosion protection. The processing of stainless steel V4A is recommended if the mailbox bank is mounted near the chemical industry or in coastal areas, which directly comes in contact with salt water or is constantly exposed to very salty air.

Generally all existing fonts can be used. Our standard fonts are Arial, Avantgarde, Tahoma and Verdana. Please ask your personal account manager for other fonts. He will be happy to help you. Logos and Symbols have to be provided to us as digital vector grafics.

Inscription by engraving

Technique
For engravings the surface of the metal is milled up, the formed deepening is filled with black special colour.

Illumination of inscription boxes

Inscription boxes with through-graving can be illuminated on request. For this through-gravings are covered from the back with translucent Plexiglas.

Cased fluorescent tube, (lenght depending on inscription 300 - 1250 mm). Use of several fluorescent tubes depending on inscription (220 V / 80 W)

LED illumination on request

Individually adapted LED illumination units with separately installed constant current source and with integrated dimmer switch.
