Mounting
FRISCO with front panel
This mailbox is designed for installation on a bar-mat-fence using the angle bracket set provided.
The letterbox bracket is screwed to the letterbox using the pre-drilled holes. The fence bracket is then clamped into the mesh panels and secured to the letterbox bracket using the carriage bolts. The bolts have a certain amount of play due to the slotted holes, allowing for variations in the spacing between the bars to be compensated for.
FRISCO without front panel
When installing, ensure that the fence has sufficient load-bearing capacity. The opening in the fence for fitting the letterbox must be of a suitable size.
As the installation situation varies depending on the fence, no holes have been pre-drilled. For letterboxes with a function box, please ensure that the positioning and size of the fixing holes allow for the necessary cable entry. The fixing screws are not included in the scope of delivery; they must be provided by the customer to correspond with the installation requirements.
Drilling Instructions
As long as the customer drills the mounting holes according to these instructions, warranty continues.
- Use a metal drilling machine: For drilling the mounting holes please use an appropriate metal drilling machine.
- Pre-drilling: For drill holes with a diameter of 10 mm or more, pre-drilling with a smaller drill bit (3–5 mm) is required.
- Light pressure when drilling: Apply only very light pressure whilst drilling.
- Use cutting fluid: When drilling the fixing holes, the drill bit should be cooled using cutting fluid.
- Deburring: Remove any burrs before applying a rust inhibitor or touch-up paint! Where possible, use a countersink drill bit for this; alternatively, work very carefully with sandpaper.
- Applying a rust inhibitor: For non-stainless steel boxes, it is essential to apply a standard rust inhibitor (zinc spray or similar). Rust-proofing paints are available at any DIY store.
- Tip: Touch-up pens! Use our touch-up pens for a flawless finish around the drill hole. We offer a wide range of RAL colours for touch-ups and repairs.
Electrical installation
The electrical connection must be carried out by qualified personnel. More detailed information is available on connecting the stainless steel doorbell button, on mounting an intercom module and on LED backlighting.
